Ikes Art Sponsor over at Glitter N Sparkle's Week 190 Flower Power Theme

Good Morning and welcome to Week 190 over at the Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog

This weeks challenge is all about
Flower Power

and my Sponsor for the week is Ikes Art

here is the card that I have created

I went for a slightly different card blank style this time and it's a dl shape that opens on the short side
I have used off cuts for this card which is a great way to be thrifty when crafting.

I stretched the floral digital image to give a longer look to the flowers.
I coloured them using Promarkers
Marsh Green - Buds
Cocoa - Branches
Pale pink & Aniseed for the petals

I wanted to keep it simple and added a floral ribbon from Meiflower Crafts and then stamped flowers down the right hand side.

If you would like to join in the fun then pop over to the Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog and have a go and maybe you will be lucky and get some great new digital images from our sponsors.

Glitter N Sparkle - Week 189 - Anything Goes week - The Stamping Boutique Sponsor

Wow, another week  is almost over and this weeks Glitter N Sparkle Challenge is one of our most popular themes and is
Anything Goes week

One of this weeks sponsors is the fabulous The Stamping Boutique and I was very lucky to get to choose from their amazing selection of digi's
I chose:

I thought it was such a  fun image to work with and would work really well on a larger card size.
Here is what I came up with

I have coloured this image in using Promarkers:
Horse: Cinnamon & Burnt Sienna
Tail & Mane: Sandstone & Praline
Saddle & Bridal : Henna
Blanket: Grey Green
Skin : Blush, Saffron & Pastel Pink
Hair: Burnt Sienna
Jumps: Lipstick Red
Rider's t-shirt : Cardinal Red
Grass: Pear Green & Marsh Green

I made a large 8" x 8" card blank from a sheet of A3 card stock, next I used a Stampin Up Stamp set which included the apple and used memento ink to stamp the apple border on the card blank. I also stamped and extra 2 on a scrap piece of card to use as embellishments.
I have matted and layered the image with coordinating papers and card stock colours.
The final pieces were to add the apples and then the sentiment which is a Woodware Crafts Stamp set called Make a Wish.

I love these fun cartoon like digital images, if you would like to win some of these great images or soem from our other sponsors then pop over to Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog and add your entry using the linky.

Have a great Sunday

Week 188 - Glitter N Sparkle DT sample - Theme Ribbon or Lace - Cute as a Button Sponsor

Good Morning and it's another fun challenge this week over at the Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog
This weeks sponsors are brilliant and Myself and Samantha got this gorgeous Cute as a Button Digital Images - The image could be coloured in lots of different techniques and colour combinations but I went for a Orange & Purple colour scheme for mine.
Colours used are:
Skin: Blush, Saffron & Pastel Pink
Hair: Sandstone, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna
Neck piece: Orange & blender pen
Hat : Violet, Purple, Spring Lilac & Amethyst
Sunflower - Bells

I have used the Promarker blender a lot on this image to create shading and look of movement.
I layered the card using the Venetian Paper Stack from an old retired Stampin up collection which I though worked well.
The element of ribbon or lace was easy as I knew I had some lovely satin ribbon from Meiflower Crafts which matched perfectly with the colours I have used on the image.

If you would like to join in the fun over at Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog and to be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes, simply make a card using the brief and add your link to the post.

Week 187 - All Dressed up Image for Glitter N Sparkles - One for the Ladies

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Glitter N Sparkle Challenge

This is the digital image that myself and one of the team got to work with, aren't they a super cute trio of ladies

Following is my actual card that I have made using the image

I arranged them on the computer with the intention of doing a scene, which worked really well when I printed in and made started using the inks and dry baby wipes to create a seaside scene.
I wanted to make the card bright and sunny like the summer holidays were already here. So I chose Promarker colours such as Lime twist, Hot Pink and Sunflower yellow.
Skin is done with Blush, Saffron & Pastel Pink
Hair is done with Burnt Sienna and Cinnamon

I continued the colour scheme with the backing elements and ribbon.
All finished off with a Sentiment from a Stampin Up set.

Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Week 184: Red & White - Sami Stamps

Good Morning and welcome to another fabulous themed challenge over at Glitter N Sparkle.

This week we have some amazing sponsors and my chosen sponsor is Sami Stamps

I just love their images and have purchased several of them.

So which image did I chose?
Well I got this gorgeous design:

So the theme set is Red & White

And here is what I have created:
I kept it simple as I think it looks more effective.
I coloured the image with Promarkers: Lipstick Red, Berry & Poppy for the dress,
Skin: Blush, Saffron & Pastel Pink
Hair: Primrose, Pastel Yellow & Mustard
Flowers: Crimson
I have used the Promarker blender pen to add shading to the dress.

The backing is a gorgeous Red Polka dot card stock from Anna-Marie Designs purchased at the NEC and I have used a Stamp Set by Stampin Up for the sentiment in the top corner.
White satin ribbon tied in the corner and then I have added red & white pearls to add final details.

I love this image and have coloured it in a few other colours too ready to make more cards.
I hope you like the image and will pop over to take a look at Sami Stamps or pop over to Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog to take part in the Red & White challenge theme.

Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Week: 183 Sun, moon or Stars

Good morning, and welcome to this week's Glitter N Sparkle Challenge which this week the theme is all about:
Moon, Stars or Sun

What a great theme and I have to say I instantly had an idea for this theme and was lucky enough to be given Beccy's Place Digital Images to choose images from.

I fell in love with the Cattitude images and I got this very cute cat image to use on this card
Here is what I have made:

'Cats on Wall under the stars'

I printed 3 different sized cats and then coloured them with promarkers:
Simply used - Raw sienna, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna and Cool Grey 5

The backing is simply made with silver stamped stars, hand drawn moon and then I added some black star paper clips which are from IKEA. The wall panel is a backing sheet by Kanban Crafts, which I have stamped the 'Moon' sentiment by Docrafts.

It's been a very fun theme and I can imagine we are going to have some fantastic entries over at Glitter N Sparkle
I look forward to seeing all your entries.

Use a Die or Punch

The image has a tattoo that runs across her body which I coloured with Lilacs and soft greens from the Promarker range of colours, which I also incorporated into the rest of the image and on the card itself.
The butterflies are a purchase from a recent Hobby show at the NEC in Birmingham and they just added a splash of colour and foil to the card.

Week #180 Anything Goes Challenge on the Glitter n Sparkle Blog

Good Morning and on this lovely first day of spring, we  have the sun shining and the birds tweeting away whilst I'm sat in my work room.

This week is the Anything Goes week over on the Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog and this week I was given a Lacy Sunshine Digital Image - called Flower Bed Fred Gnome and he is super cute and very fitting this morning as it's the First day of Spring.
And here he is:
Isn't he cute? Such a fun image to colour too. I used something a bit different for me this time and used Pastel Pencils, I bought these pencils from a local Anime Art Shop and I have to say it's a lovely change to use something else to colour with. They are called Bruynzeel Design Pastel Pencils - 12 in a box.
Great for smudging and they have given a lovely effect with the a shading.
It was screaming out for fun bright colours, so I continued this on with the card colours too.
I decided to try a gatefold card today and the card was precut by Lime Tree Craft and it was just a case of finding the folding points and off we go. The Lemon card stock is also by Limetree Craft and the Citrus green polka dots is by Anna Marie Designs.
I have used a Stampin Up trio of flowers punch and used off cuts to cut them out. I have tied a sage green ribbon to hold the card shut and finished with tiny pearls on the flowers for effect.

Love this Gnome image - great fun to use and Lacy Sunshine are a fabulous Digital stamp company.

If you would like to be in with a chance to win some digital images from any of our sponsors this week then pop over to the Glitter N Sparkle Challenge blog page and find out how to play along and to add your creations.
Lots of Look and Happy Spring to you all.

Challenge # 176 Anything Goes week this week - Crafty Sentiments Image A gentle touch

Good Morning wow another week come and gone and it's been a busy one, I have launched my own Craft supplies business online Truly Inspired Crafts and it's been the school Half term holiday so rather manic here in my house :)

Now this week's challenge is 'Anything Goes' over at Glitter N Sparkle Challenge Blog which on these weeks is always super busy with all your amazing makes.

I was lucky enough to get an image by craftysentimentsdesigns and got one called 'A Gentle Touch'

Here is the image and information on how I did it.

Now I printed this image 3 times and tried a few different techniques but this is the one I went for, I wanted to something a bit different rather than just colour them in so I got the Fluffy Stuff out and added it on. This stuff is amazing as it a wet glue like texture when you apply it but when you add heat to it it turns fluffy and bumpy as you can see from the picture it works great for textured bears. Fluffy Stuff is available in White, Brown & green over at Truly Inspired Crafts.

Here is the finished card I designed using Crafty Sentiment Designs 'A gentle Touch' Image,
Papers were from my left overs basket
Ribbon is from Truly Inspired Crafts

I hope you can join in the 'Anything Goes' challenge week over at Glitter n Sparkle Blog and be in with a chance of winning some of our amazing sponsors images,
Lots of Crafty Hugs

Good Morning and welcome to my blog this week. It's been a funny old week with Christmas and New Year and it's nice to get back to work and designing some new cards.

This weeks Glitter N Sparkle Challenge is all about 'Anything Goes' and I was lucky enough to be given a choice from the amazing The Stamping Boutique which with their brilliant selection of digi's it was hard work picking something. I fancied something a bit different and the Carousel image caught my eye (Carousel Image) I printed it quite big so that I could make a nice 8"x 8" sized card.
Here is my card below in all it's glory.

I have been trying out my Copic markers this time rather than Promarkers as I have been on a couple of lessons on how to improve my techniques with Kit & Clowder, still playing around but very happy with the overall appearance so far.

Colours Used are:
YR02, YR15, YR20 & YR21 - Mane & Tail
BG01, BG09, BG72 - Ribbons
BV00, BV08, V09 - Saddle
E33,  E29, E25  - Horse
R29 Pole, Hoofs & Lace.

The rest of the card is made up using a A3 White card sheet cut to size, Kanban Crafts Fresh Autumn Basics paper pad ( Orange zigzags), Red Polka distressed paper from a pad by Recollections which I purchased from TKMaxx, Off cuts of Yellow polka dot paper die cut & punched from accents, lilac buttons which I added orange ribbon and tied for effect. Finally to add to the funfair aspect of the card I made my own Admit one ticket .

I love the card and it's full of bright colour and fun.

Nearly New Year already :)

Good Morning and it's certainly a bit blustery here in the West Midlands today. So a great excuse to cosy up in the craft room and get creating, We had a week off from Glitter n Sparkle challenges but we are secretly planning our January Projects. Kanban Crafts sent us some top secret goodies too for us to work on over Christmas too which have all gone off back to the factory ready for the shows in the next few weeks.
So whilst it was quiet I had a re-jig in the work room and actually moved to the conservatory which as you can see is lovely and light for working on these dull days still. The work room is now a man cave ( well that's what the boys are calling it lol)

I have decided I have too much stuff and need more storage but no spare pennies at the moment. So I have packed a bit away and hidden it :)

Now whilst clearing out I found some unloved items so I got crafting and here is a card I made

It is using an older Kanban Crafts topper sheets called Damask Gown and the code is CON8018.
The sheet is to make a concept card but I chopped the blank element up to make the backing and added bits and pieces I found whilst tidying up.
Quite pleased with this one.

Back to making today at full speed as I have a few Etsy orders to do and design work to finish which I will be sharing with you all very soon.

Have a great week
