Workshop Reviews

Well I have been so busy with work and workshops so I'm here now with some reviews of our recent workshops.
This was the first of our workshops at The Tree House Bookshop in Kenilworth, we looked at Distress ink techniques and this was one of our projects. To tie in with the bookshops recent Shakespeare celebrations we decided to use some his famous quotations for the plaque.

Our next class is on this Thursday at 10.30 am and we are joining in the Foodie Fortnight antics going on in Kenilworth with an Afternoon themed selection of projects. We still have a couple of spaces available if you would like to join in.

A beautiful spring day for the beginning of April

I have naughtily been neglecting my blog so I am back and have lots going on to tell everyone about.
Firstly we have joined forces with The Tree House Book Shop and their fab venue so that we can hold more Craft workshops and offer fab facilities whilst we are there.
We currently have the first 8 weeks booked in which is very exciting and these classes can all be booked via me or the bookshop with a non refundable deposit of £5.00. For more information go to our Facebook page where all the details can be found.

We are also happy to announce that we will be showcasing our goods at the New Fargo Village in Coventry in September when it opens it's doors. We will be part  Kejoe's Designs outlet called Express your shelves. We will also be running papercrafting classes within the venue on a regular basis too.

And finally we have big plans for a special wedding stationery workshop held once a month. More details to be announced.

Now I have samples to get making for the Bookshop so I will be back later to show you all what we have planned.

Well Tuesday is already here and wow the last few days have flown by. I've been crafting behind the scenes in preperation for some workshops and also some card orders.

This is one thing that I created today using Card-io products, I used Versacolor Topaz and distressed the areas and then used Dragonfly garden stamp set to add pattern to the cards and the envelopes in side to hold the cards are also stamped.

Loved making this it is so versatile and could be done in allsorts of colours.

Spring is in the air and I'm buzzzing - Challenge entry 'Plenty of embellies' Mo Manning Digi entry

Sat down today at my craft challenge class and I picked out a ticket with Buzzzzz written on it. Well I went for a nosy and came across a Mo Manning digi stamp and it was perfect for the theme. Here is what I came up with.

I started with the image and built up from there. I have taken a picture a 3 seperate stages to show you the colours that I used and what stages I did things.

Here she is all coloured, she is just so cute. Mo Manning has an amazing website full of fab digi's and also has a lot of her work now in rubber stamps by Penny Black. You can pop to her website by following this link Mo's Digital Pencil. I have found they are also holding a blog challenge which this card will be entered into, you can go over and check it out @ Mo's Challenge blog, where you can win digi images for winning or being picked as their top 3.

Now for the card, I took a plain cream sheet of A4 and cut to make a 6"x6" card blank, I decided to create a landscape shape. Using the colours in the image i stuck to yellows and creams as my colour scheme. The backing sheets are by First Edition and from the Blank Canvas range. I drew stitch lines around the cream sheet, I distressed a yellow panel and matted the digi image on to it  and layered to the card, the border was originally white so I inked it using versacolor mini pad and the added pale yellow pearls. To finish I used vintage crochet style lace, a Yellow flower (Wild Orchid Crafts) and a few ivory pearls. The sentiment is a Stampin up one.
I had extra items left over so decided to make a gift tag to go with it as a set.

On a mission today for blog entries and here is the last one for today. I am entering Meljen Designs Blog Challenge ( Meljen Designs DT Challenge Blog). The theme is Lucky You ( green is the colour needed)

I couldn't make my mind up which image to you that I have recenty coloured in green but plummed for this one a lovely Steam punk lady which then inspired the backing papers, washi tape and gold embellishment to finish the design.

Cute card Thursday Challenge Entry - Girls Girls Girls - CC Designs Japanese lady

Well this weeks Cute Card Thursday is all about girls, Girls, Girls and I had a design in mind straight away. Pop over to Cute Card Thursday  for more infoa and a chance to win a Whiff of Joy rubber stamp thanks to Katharina there.

I decided that I would use a CC designs Japanese lady that I bought then other day and coloured with promakers - Unfortunately I haven't got the colours writtend own anywhere :(

I layered the card with Stampin up In colour card from 2014 - 15 Strawberry slush and coastal cabana and then used a free paper from Making Cards magazine as the backing, I added washi tape in the corners for something different and finished with some Gardenia flowers from Wild orchid Crafts and a Craftwork cards sentiment.

I hope they like it :)

My ABC Challenge entry - H is for Hair

Today I am entering the ABC blog challenge with the theme os H is for Hair.
Our brief is obviously to use our skills with hair design. I decided to go for a Magnolia Tilda Design for this entry.

I coloured the hair with promarkers and used the colours - Sandstone, caramel & Burnt Sienna and added White marks using a Stampin up chalk marker.

Then the skin which I used Blush, Saffron and Pastel Pink.

I decided to create a wedding scene so used the Magnolia Swedish Scene Back ground stamp as I think it looks like a church in the scene. I coloured again used promakers - Burnt Sienna, Umber, Warm Grey3, Caramel, Grass, lush green, Meadow Green, Apple, Cool grey 1 & 3, Terracotta and a mix of colours for the stainglass windows.

I had a delivery from Wild Orchid Crafts this morning so perfect timing for the flowers that I used which are Carnations, Gardenia's and tiny roses and finished with some pearls.

I used First Edition Blank Canvas backing paper and then using a piece of Stampin up Crisp Cantaloupe Peach card stock which I embossed using a craft concepts Budding Vine folder. The sentiment is a Woodware rubber stamp.

I hope they like the card over @ ABC Challenge :)

Throw back Friday - Cards from my folders

Throw back Friday - Here is a lovely card I made a a year or so ago and love this card for a huge fan of Made in Chelsea so we did a blinged shopping themed.

I used a Magnolia Tilda walking her dog, a Rubber romance chandeliers and used a penny black rubber stamp for the brick wall. I added some bling jewellery in the shop window for added effect.

Such a fun card and very well received by the birthday girl.
See you all later

Sunshine and Sunflowers

With the sunshining outside this week I have been inspired by the colour yellow and have been asked to make some lovely Sunflower cards.
The one above is for an Auntie and she loves sunflowers and butterflies. I used First editions Blank Canvas paper stack for the backing and used both sides of one sheet, I used an organza ribbon, pearls and on the brown die cut panel I used yellow twine and a trio of sunflowers. The buuterflies are Spellbinders butterflies.

The next card is for a Sister for her birthday and again I used the First Edition Blank Canvas paper stack and Stampin up In colour card stock. We used a quirky quote down the side and used the pictres that were provided.

Inside the card we have made a pocket as the sister in question has asked for money for her gift.

I have to admit I love using Blank Canvsa paper stacka nd it works amazingly well with the new Stampin up in colour card. I'm sure I'll be making a few more like these soon.
Thanks for looking

I have used the Bunny watering a Happy birthday tree for this card, I layered with a piece of Stampin Up 2014 in colour card and First editions Blank Canvas paper stock, I added Club green pale pink organza ribbon and a Die cut chip board number and finished with a handstamped message.

What could be better than celebrating the safe arrival of a new baby. I love making cards for these special events.
Today I have for you a card to welcome a little boy into the world and have used the very cute bunny image from the very talented Melissa Jenkins. Her blog challenge this time was also 'celebration' and also a blog hop so i thought I'd enter this card.

The rabbit ( Fluffy Bunny )  available from www.meljensdesigns.com has been coloured using promarkers and I have used Anne Marie Designs polka dot card for the background layering. I have accompanied the rabbit with a cute pram which is by Magnolia Rubbert stamps and embellishment with a sentiment and my favourite items of all time Buttons :)

Mother's day is just around the corner

Wow, the weather isn't so good today where has that spring weather disappeared too? It's my 15th Anniversary today but he is at work and kids at school so I have plenty of time to show you some cards I have been creating whilst thinking about Mother's Day designs.

Colour guides to help those colouring with promarkers

I have over the last few weeks been running craft workshops for local  crafters, whilst doing that I have had a lot of conversations about my colouring and how and what I use, So i have been documenting my colouring in photo form to show the stages that I colour, here are just a few samples.

This image above is a woodware rubber stamp and is great for Christening or New baby cards

This image is from the very talented Sherri Baldy and her fabulous besties range which can be found on Etsy and she has a huge selection to choose from.

I'm Back :)

I'm back to the world of blogging now my password problem has been sorted. It has been a while I know :(
I have made note on my board to blog daily from today and show the world what I have been up to.

Today I have quite a few posts to do so here is the first one:

I recently bought the Trimcraft Curiosity range from a craft show and here is one of the creations I have made using the 6"x6" papers and the lace trims that match the set. I chopped the sentiment from one fo the papers as it fits perfectly. I finished the card off with paper flowers and added embellishments in keeping with the card into the middle of them.
See you all again soon.
