Tonic Studio's Workshop @ Stoneleigh Park GBCF

I have had a lovely weekend spending time at The Great British Craft Festival, I have the chance to go both days and I loved it yet again that Show is brilliant.
On Saturday I tried to pop along to the Tonic Studio's stand to visit the lovely Cheremane Smith who was running the sessions with Sharon Duffy but they were so busy I didn't chance to have a go but I was very intrigued by the designs they were using and I decided to purchase my first Tonic Studio Die . I know I hear the gasps of shock that I hadn't bought one before but I am not a big die cutter so just hadn't got round to buying any until now.
I went back on Sunday and managed to jump in a seat :) and here is what I made,

I have to say the fairies are my favourite and great for my work at the Crystal Cave at Fargo Village.
So I purchased a couple of the dies

I'm looking forward to having a play with these dies today.

Christmas in July ( I know what you thought)

Well at Kanban this summer they had Christmas on their minds and they designed a wonderful winter collection which was launched in July on Create & Craft TV.

Being on the Design Team it meant I got a chance to craft with the kit beforehand and make some samples for the show.

And here they are, I have added a selection of designs I made with the kit. The kit is huge and something for all crafters.

The above design was made using the wipe clean stencils that Kanban now produce, which I have to say are brilliant and can be used in so many ways. I dusted the back ground with ink dusters and then the top one was done drawing around the shape and colouring with promarkers.

I will be doing a few demo's and tutorials on my Facebook page: Unicorn Crafts Handmade Cards in October using the stencils so please pop over and like the page so you stay up to date with events happening.

Back with a bang

It's been a funny old week as last weeks storm took out our broadband and the Sky TV box, so it's been a quiet on-line week but I have been busy behind the scenes making and creating.

I have been using the wonderful Belle de Fleur kit which Kanban released the other week and here are a few of my latest creations.

Here is the first of my makes - I created 2 Pop up box cards and used the Belle de Fleur backing papers, toppers, butterflies, clocks and sentiments
I used pearls and gems to add some extra wow factors to them.

Square card blank that went slightly wrong when I started so I decided to use the piece I had to cut off an made a smaller piece / front cover. I used gorgeous pink lace with this card and used several elements from the kit.

Another square card for you which includes a topper of an old fashioned phone and I layered various pieces of Belle de Fleur backing papers.

I then decided to create this A5 sized card with the topper (Postcard with butterfly & Chair) as a pocket for a tag with postage marks stencilled on it. I have to say I absolutely love the butterflies that come with the kit and seem to be constantly using them.

I would definitely recommend the kit it is so versatile and makes absolutely stunning creations.
Until next time
See you Soon

Belle de Fleur Sneak peek from the new Kanban Crafts collection

Sneak Peek time here at Unicorn Crafts ready for the release on Thursday 1 day spectacular show on Create & Craft TV.

Belle De Fleur is a stunning new collection which is brought to you by Kanban Crafts. The collection is huge and extremely versatile and great for all sorts of projects.

I have designed this as one of my samples to be shown on the tv on Thursday.

It is a giant chipboard scallop edge tag which I have layered papers and distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks.

I have used various elements from across the kit to embellish the tag and used die cut flowers, postcards, toppers etc to layer the tag design.

Within the kits there are lots of different shape, size and patterned flowers and butterflies which are beautiful.

I have to say the Paris theme element in the kits is one of my favourites but lets be honest the whole kit is stunning.

Don't forget to tune in on Thursday to Create & Craft TV and catch the Kanban Crafts 1 day Spectacular shows to order your kits.

Thanks for looking and don't forget you can follow on our Facebook page Unicorn Crafts - Handmade Cards and accessories.

Lots of hugs

Tiddly Ink Stamps - Cheerleading fun Thank You Card

It was the Uk Schools Cheer leading championships last weekend and a friend asked me to make a Thank you card for her daughter's cheer leading coaches.

It had to be big ready for the messages from all the parents so it is a A4 size card in landscape. I used the squad colours for the backing and additional elements and made the bunting from a Stampin Up Bunting punch and hand stamped the letters from a alphabet stamp set by Dovecraft.

Now for the cheer leaders these super cute cheer leaders are by the amazing Tiddly Inks Stamps & Digi's and is called Annie Cheers!.
I coloured the 6 images in a mixture of hair colours and kept the uniform matching the squad. I have used Mainly Promarker Pens for the colouring.

The Owls sentiments down the side were Die cut from an alphabet set by Memory Box.

I have to say I love this card it's full of fun.
Thanks for looking
